facial skin careDue to the exposure it receives, facial skin care is vital as it is the most delicate skin on the body. There are many lotions and potions knocking about, but good facial skin care often involves nothing more than a little extra time and attention. When washing first thing in the morning, lukewarm water should be used with maybe a small amount of a mild, natural cleanser. Face cloths are ok, but more beneficial are the fingertips as they are gentler on the skin. When drying don’t scrub away with an obviously dirty towel, dab it dry with a clean one. Skin toner can be useful as part of a facial skin care schedule, but some can contain drying products, such as alcohol or acetone, that can be irritating to sensitive skin. The skin under your eyes is more delicate and sensitive than the skin on the rest of your face and will be the first part of the face to show signs of aging. A natural eye cream or serum can help to protect this fragile skin, minimise dark under eye circles, and even temporarily tighten fine lines. For satisfactory facial skin care a good moisturiser is a must. It needs to be used immediately after bathing to seal moisture into the skin. A facial skin care moisturiser binds water to the skin, so its effects are longer lasting. Protection from the sun’s rays is a crucial part of facial skin care. Excess sun exposure can cause damage to your skin in the form of freckles, roughness, age spots, wrinkles, and cancer. Skin cells can repair themselves to a certain degree even after they have been overexposed to ultraviolet light, as long as further exposure is avoided. Use a natural sunscreen product everyday, even if you don't plan on spending a lot of time outdoors. Some basic tips to follow in a facial skin care programme are: don't wait until bedtime to remove dirt, makeup, dust and pollutants from the face. If you're in for the night, wash your face as soon as you get home for the day and apply eye cream and moisturisers. Try, if you can, to avoid coffee as it dehydrates the body and takes moisture from the skin. Drink plenty of purified water throughout the day. Water is great for facial skin care as it helps to give the skin moisture and improves circulation. Use sunscreen frequently as it‘s never too late to start protecting your skin from the damaging effects of the sun. | Skin care tips
